How is it July 11 already? Time, as they say, flies. And I don’t know about you but the shadow of the upcoming Mercury Retrograde has been all over me the last few days. I don’t believe in that, except for I do when it effects me.
Over at Drinks With Broads this week, a plethora for your perusal:
We’ve got a new And Just Like That recap! LTW’s dead dad dies again! What is going on over there?
Gladys is really in the shit now, over at The Gilded Age (and I go on, of course, a rant in the newest recap)
We cover Jennifer Aniston’s new Hunky Guru (boyfriend, that’s not the title of her latest rom-com), plus take a look at The Fountain of Youth and The Buccaneers AND the new Devil Wears Prada AND some other stuff, like Tom Brady and Sofia Vergara, and the firing of Christian Horner. Jam-packed! (We also talked about cute lobster stuff, inspired by this sweatshirt I just got. There is a LOT.)
And here at GFY, we talked about our favorite exfoliants, tackled couture week, and kept an eye on celebs at Wimbledon (among many other things)
The news out of Texas in the wake of their awful floods has been absolutely heartbreaking. The Austin American Statesmen rounded up ways to help. (Including lists of local restaurants donating proceeds, if you’re in the area.) Feel free to share other resources in the comments if you have them. (If you share a link, you immediately go into moderation as a measure to prevent spam, but I will get you out!)
Texas Monthly ran an incredible first-person account from one of their staffers, whose family cabin flooded while they were in it. Please note that it’s beautiful and terrifying and very, very sad.
An amazing story: She Ran a Vintage Store. Now She’s Reuniting Flood Victims With Precious Belongings.
WOW. I’ve been following this via the Hermes subreddit and I knew it would go for a lot but I didn’t think it would be THIS much: Jane Birkin’s Original Hermès Bag Just Sold for Over $10 Million
This week, at Gossip Reading Club: Do You Remember: The Fake Lesbian Drama of t.A.T.u? I DO.
And I appreciate Lainey for also tackling this possible Tom Brady/Sofia Vergara romance.
Such an interesting piece on the history and language of the emoji! Thank you to the reader who sent this to me.
Variety has weighed in with their final Emmy nomination predictions! (The noms come out on Tuesday.)

Quince is our number one most popular brand, in terms of sales, this year so far. (By a lot, actually! J.Crew is next up, though.) I’m still really tempted by this dress. I also really like this one; it’s so hot out and it’s so floaty?

This Wimbledon post reminded me of Me+Em — someone in it was wearing a really cute skirt from the brand — and they’ve got some cute stuff right now. (I of course own a Breton top from there because Kate Middleton wore it once.) This is a great shirt-dress, speaking of stripes. They’re also having a big sale; I am SO TEMPTED by this dress. Maybe I’ll buy the tank top portion of it? I also love this little striped cardigan (not on sale).
Related: Welcome to the Queue, where waiting for Wimbledon tickets rivals the tennis. We were just talking about this!
Bon Appetit rounded up 97 (!!!!) salad recipes! Perfect for this literal season of our lives. (In this hemisphere anyway.)

At Salon: We’re offloading mental tasks to AI. It could be making us stupid. I’m sure it is!
Speaking of sales, Saks is having a very very big one. I spent a lot of time tootling through the flat sandals. I wish I’d had these little raffia slides for my vacation. They’re marked WAY down but my size is gone.
