You're about to be fired

You're not stupid. You've seen the looks, heard the buzz at work. You've got a gut feeling and it's not a good one. There's a good chance you're about to get fired. Pay attention to the warning signs so you can be prepared or reverse the damage before it's too late.

The Boss Has Disappeared
If your boss has suddenly gone incognito any time that you are trying to have a discussion, this is a big clue that something is wrong. When you feel like you are being avoided, no one answers your calls, and your emails never have an answer from the higher ups, you can read the writing on the wall. You're probably on the way out.

You Suddenly Have Nothing to Do
If you used to have plenty of responsibilities and they dry up or are passed on to others, beware. There's a good chance that your boss is tying up all the loose ends so no projects are left hanging when you are given your walking papers.

You Aren't Given a Chance to Spread Your Wings
If you ask for professional development opportunities to hone your skills and get the door slammed in your face, there's a reason for it. Employers are generally receptive to go-getters. When they block your path, they don't want to pay for someone who is going to be cut loose.

You're in Hot Water
If you've been taken to task, reprimanded, or disciplined in any way, it could mean there are storm clouds on the horizon. Take a good, hard look at yourself. If you've been taking advantage of your resources, lazy, and habitually late, don't be surprised if your disciplinary action will result in a pink slip.

Look Out for the World of Automation
This fast-paced world is rapidly changing. If you can be replaced by technology, it should come as no surprise when it actually happens. If you see change is in the air, plan ahead and start looking elsewhere before you are cut.

You're Company Has Had a Takeover
If someone new comes in and acquires your place of work, there may be a major overhaul. It should come as no shock if cuts in employees are a part of the transition, whether new owners are saving money or bringing own their own people.

You've Been Asked for Your Job Description
If your boss asks you to describe what you do in detail, it's probably going to end up as a job listing. Be honest with your boss so you can make future plans.
