This 1997 Mercedes-Benz E300 is a European-market turbodiesel wagon that was initially delivered to Spain before it is noted to have been acquired by its second owner in 2002, spending the next 22 years between the United Kingdom and southern France. The seller purchased the car in 2024 and subsequently undertook a roadtrip through the UK before importing it to the United States. It was awarded first place in the Modern Classics Class at the 2024 Legends of the Autobahn in Monterey, California. Finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over black leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Features include a sunroof, 16″ multi-spoke light alloy wheels, a cassette stereo, cruise control, power windows, and dual-zone climate control. This W210 E300 wagon has 206k kilometers (~128k miles) and is offered at no reserve with the aforementioned award in addition to a data sheet, manufacturer’s literature, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic (744) and is equipped with a power-operated glass sunroof, an eccentric-sweeping monoblade wiper, a hood ornament, Elegance front fender badging, roof rails, a rear wiper, fog lights, and headlight washers. The hood, fenders, quarter panels, bumper covers, and tailgate were refinished in 2014, at which time an anti-rust coating was applied. There is corrosion on the right rear door edge, and paint correction was performed and a ceramic coating was applied in 2024. Photos of paint meter readings are provided in the gallery below.
The 16″ multi-spoke light alloy wheels wear Toyo Proxes tires with 2021 date codes. The car is equipped with Automatic Slip Control (ASR), and stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated discs. The seller notes that the ASR/PML module, a brake light switch, and a relay were replaced in 2025, and additional service involved changing the brake fluid and replacing the brake pads and rotors.
The seating surfaces are upholstered in black leather, and interior amenities include a cassette stereo, cruise control, power windows, and dual-zone climate control. There are cracks in the dashboard, the headliner is sagging, and there is a tear near the sunroof.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 260-km/h speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 206k kilometers (~128k miles), approximately 10k of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.0-liter turbodiesel OM606 inline-six sends power to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. Viton chemical-resistant fuel line O-rings are noted to have been installed, and work in 2024 involved changing the the driveshaft center support bearing, differential pinion seal, differential fluid, fuel shut-off valve, the fuel pre-filter, and the engine oil. The battery was replaced in preparation for the sale.
Corrosion is noted on the underside components.
The car is shown above at the 2024 Legends of the Autobahn in Monterey, California.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage from its first entry in May 2024.
The current California title carries a “Non USA” brand. The car is currently registered in California, although it has not been inspected by the California Air Resources Board.
